Season 5 is off to a wonderful start!

Warning: Spoilers
Season 3 of "Seinfeld" is where we first started to witness the brilliance of the show, the fourth season then took the show to a whole new level. As someone who has yet to watch the entire series, I am not sure whether season 5 is said to be better than its preceding season but "The Mango" is an excellent start to what I hope will be an excellent season.

George is dating another girl, again he is feeling the pressure of sexually performing. Elaine manages to confess that she faked her orgasms during her time with Jerry, which sends their friendship spiraling down. Kramer buys fruit from his regular store, but when he complains about a peach to the store owner, he is banned from visiting the store!

George and Jerry are put into an amusing situation here, both their lives seem to take an unexpected spin when Jerry realizes his sexual performance failed to satisfy Elaine. George fears the worst, ruining his chance with the girl, and Elaine gives Jerry a chance to have sex to preserve their friendship. The story flows wonderfully, and the mango plot is used sparingly and to great effect.

To see Kramer's mischief is always excellent, and this is no exception. We see just how deeply Kramer loves his fruit, and him taking a half eaten peach and demanding a refund was classical Kramer! The acting by the elite trio is terrific and Jerry Seinfeld shows further improvement. His stand up is almost always excellent, and his opening bit about scientists inventing the seedless melon was wonderful.

"The Melon" is a fantastic start to the season. Definitely worth the watch.

They Also Feel Impo-Tent

There are several touchy subjects here. The most dominant is the faking of orgasms. Elaine tells Jerry that when they were together, she faked all the time. George is in a relationship and he now thinks that all his encounters have been faked. An unrelated subplot involves Kramer's making the mistake of insulting his fruit vendor and being forbidden from ever walking in the door again. Soon he is enlisting Jerry and Kramer to buy fruit for him on the sly. Jerry also gets banished from the store. Mangos become an i important thing in the end. Of course, George never can just accept good fortune. He has to screw up everything he touches.

Season 5, Episode 1: "The Mango" The season 5 premiere, The Mango, is a clear follow-up to season 4's groundbreaking "The Contest" in its frank shockingly straightforward discussion of sexual topics, but while "The Contest" did everything to avoid the M word, "The Mango" is completely direct, which in a way, makes it a bit less funny. But it's still a fantastic episode, and one of the few that solidified Seinfeld's reputation as a show that doesn't shy away from any subject. It's also the first episode in a long while that deals with Jerry and Elaine's former relationship in any significant way, and for that alone it's a standout for fans of the show. Jerry and Julia pull some of their best acting on the show.

On a side note, while the episode is clearly dominated by Jerry and Elaine, George is also fantastic in this one, and he's supported by a great performance from Lisa Edelstein (Of House fame) as his girl of the week, who remains one of the most memorable guest stars of the show's run, so much so that she made another appearances later on.

If you are only after classics, this is not a Seinfeld classic but it's a Seinfeld so worth being watched over and over as long the 4 are there together.

The fruit shop guy forbids Kramer from coming to his shop so Kramer asks Jerry to buy for him and because the guy knows Kramer's regular order, he throws Jerry out as well. While George is having problems in sex performing with his girl, and he is the only one left to buy for Kramer and Jerry, he tries the mango and finds out that it solves his problems in bed though he doubts later that his girlfriend is faking it (of course because of his weak confidence)and she is not so she dumps him. You know George, even when luck is on his side, he knows how to ruin it upon himself. Now Jerry finds out that Elaine didn't enjoy their sexual relations in the past and that she was faking everything so he begs for another chance but when he is finally in bed with her, he fails and he blames it on George and says this all because of him (George) he put this in my head. I think they're funny with whatever these four do. They are just devilishly funny.

Highlight: Jerry bring obvious at Joe's. And saying "I'm banned!".
