Larry Charles & Elaine Pope won the 1992 "Outstanding Individual Achievement In Writing In A Comedy Series" Emmy for writing this episode.
Bob Sacamano is a fictional friend of Kramer (Michael Richards). He is never seen but is the source of many bizarre anecdotes. Larry Charles has stated that Sacamano was a real-life friend, although the two fell out shortly after the character was first introduced. Throughout the course of the series he was referenced in the following episodes:
Jerry asks George at one point "Are my nostrils getting bigger?" which is the same question Ronnie K, the prop comic asks Jerry in "The Fire" (Seinfeld S05E19)
Questioning the correct pronunciation of "timbre," Jerry and George wonder if it's "tim-ber" or "tam-ber," when, in fact, it's "tam-buh."
