Sometimes an episode came along that was just a disappointment. Usually, the foundations of science had some integrity in this series, but this one just doesn't work. A parapsychologist and professor is working with hypnosis, demonstrating his work to his students. An elderly lady is his subject. He is able to get her into a trance using sound. Sad for him, his research money has been pulled out from under him by a cynical university trustee. What he does is seen as mumbo jumbo. The professor is made to look silly and is even doubted by his Russian sounding wife. Enter a puzzle. An aged mentor has agreed to come for a visit and to check out the research, but never appears. He is noted for his punctuality and dependability and yet he is unreachable. Of course, now the man's future at the University is in the hands of a psychic effort under hypnosis. This could have been done in an interesting way, but the conclusion is so deflating.
