A Fingerprint for Stupidity
Hitchcoc21 July 2013
A scientist is killed, stabbed in the back as this episode launches. The man who kills him deliberately leaves obvious fingerprints. The fingerprints are those of another scientist who teaches at a small university. June Lockhart, Lassie's mother, discovers the body. The episode then goes on to be a treatise on fingerprints and all the history and science therein. The man must fly in the face of every recorded reality of the fingerprint science. That is, until they discovery that the dead man was doing research on advanced skin grafting for physical deformities, either congenital or from natural causes. This has one of the most unsatisfying conclusions possible. Watch it. It's hilarious.
