A glimmer of hope for improvement

Lister faces life without his right arm before they make an amazing discovery in his laundry basket.

The conclusion of the two parter is fairly good with a plot that works well (in a random way).

The story and sci-fi concept is quite amusing and provides a fairly comical situation. Only in Red Dwarf would and idea like this feel plausible. However the humour for me is not quite at level of Epideme, with the punchlines feeling weaker and in particular the comic similes really missing the mark. It is still in my opinion substantially less funny than the majority of series 1-6. I say this with an appreciation for the subjective nature of comedy.

All performances are as good as they can be given the material, but one that stands out is the return of a beloved character from the earlier shows. The quality of his lines are okay but his delivery and general personality is superb.

It all ends with a large amount of hope that things may improve enough for the show to recapture some of its old glory, but who knows what will happen.
