Simply put this might be the best one so far in terms of plot. I am not certain if this is a parody of an already exisiting idea. But so far as I know it is a wholely original and I love it. It is so well acted, and executed (in more ways that one). A must watch for anyone and everyone!

Some standout moments, but generally moderately funny

Lister contracts a mutated version of pneumonia with some very unusual symptoms.
For me this is a reasonably good episode of the first season that has a fairly silly concept, with some standout moments of interest and humour.
How confidence and paranoia manifest feels like a pretty half-baked idea to me, but if you take it with the fun intended it works well. When these characters arrive it is fairly interesting how it depicts paranoia hampering Lister and how dangerous and destructive overconfidence is to him as well.
The only parts that made me laugh out loud were Rimmer's brilliant line about what love is and the Cat pretending to get up from eating his lunch before comically sitting back down again. Generally I find the humour to be consistent, but not the strongest by early Red Dwarf standards. However, I always like to point out when reviewing comedy that humour is very subjective, so someone else may find it a lot funnier than I did.
Performances from all, including guest stars, are good.
