Strongest episode since the sixth season

Lister joins the Canaries thinking they are the prison choir.

I liked this episode for the fun sci-fi concept and it's consistent moments of humour.

The plot is fairly simple and mostly character-driven in how it unfolds. The idea of Cassandra is good, a nice mythology reference and it allows for some typical Rimmer shenanigans to unfold and some strong, upstanding Lister moments. It starts off a bit like Porridge in space before switching styles into something of a spoof sci-fi-thriller.

Visually it's great with the prison setting quite atmospheric, Cassandra looks the part and the costumes feeling quite different to what we have seen before.

All performances are great with solid banter coming from all the main characters and for the first time in a while they have some decent verbal punchlines to work with.

I've enjoyed this one more than any since the sixth season and I rate it at 7.5/10.
