In the final scene, a flowered glass coffee pot is used by Della to pour Perry and Paul Drake a cup. It is the same pot sold by Maxwell House Coffee to promote their product. It came filled with ground coffee at the grocery store.
The airport in the opening scene was then known as Lockheed Air Terminal and is located in Burbank, California. The airport has a history of name changes since it opened: United Airport, 1930-1934; Union Air Terminal, 1934-1940; Lockheed Air Terminal, 1940-1967; Hollywood-Burbank Airport,1967-1978, Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport, 1978-2003; Bob Hope Airport 2003-2017; and rebranded Hollywood-Burbank Airport, 2017-present (as of 2024). It is located much closer to Hollywood than Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and has been used as a location for many film and television shoots over the years.
While working on this episode, Connie Hines got a call from producer Al Simon saying he wanted to see her about a new series that was developing. That series turned out to be Mister Ed (1961).
In this episode, actor Dick Geary played the "Skin Diver." In future episodes, he will play "Diver" two times (1962 and 1963), as well as "Scuba Fella" and "Scuba Diver," both in 1964.
