There's the main story line with Uncle Albert but there's also the dynamic between Del and Rodney with Rodney going back to work for Del, initially as his car cleaner.

It's an episode with its sad and sentimental moments but one that shows the bonds between the members of the family is as strong as ever. Good stuff!

He Ain't Heavy , He's My Uncle

Warning: Spoilers
This is a very good episode from the 50-minutes stage of Only Fools And Horses. It starts of with an excellent humor-packed story about Del Boy buying his car and about Rodney looking for a job , than in turns into a story of Albert getting mugged (when actually he has only lost a fight against his old school friend Knock , Knock).

Overall this episode is a very fine example of the 50-minute episodes. It has excellent acting , good humor and an interesting story in the back , nice drama but it lacks some of the charm the older episodes had.

All in all this is a pretty enjoyable episode.

A sweet hearted episode with Uncle Albert at the centre

Warning: Spoilers
With its running time per episode now being 50 mins writer John Sullivan was able to combine both humour and drama, whilst also allowing plots to slowly build and incorporate more of the secondary characters.

This episode is a prime example of this balance, with Del Boy buying a new car and Rodney being back working for him providing the comedy moments, but also Albert's 'mugging' and subsequent loss of confidence providing the drama.

I thought Buster Merrifield gave a wonderful performance here, especially in the scene at Docklands. I think he deserves more credit for all that he brings to the role, and to the series as a whole.

Perhaps a bit of a slow burner of an episode, but on the whole deserves to be commended for Sullivan's ability to combine humour and drama.
