Birthdays, inflatable "toys", and some generic British pop culture referencing: yep, it's just another regular day at The Office, where work can be such a laugh.
The birthday is Tim's. To be specific, he turns 30, so everyone is paying him special attention. Of course, hilarity ensues when Dawn and her fiancé Lee get him a huge inflatable penis and David, as always, seizes the opportunity to make silly jokes (posing as a Dalek: "Experminate!"). The really big deal, however, is the traditional office quiz that will take place later that night, and with Chris "Finchy" Finch (Ralph Ineson) on his side, David's confident he just can't lose.
This is one of the more openly comic episodes of the series, highlights including a Monty Python spoof and, for those who love dirty jokes, a conversation between Brent, Tim and Gareth over who invented certain politically incorrect catchphrases. It's almost the high point of the first season, but not quite - there's still a certain song waiting to be played...
