One Of The Funniest ODD COUPLE Episodes
mamamiasweetpeaches31 July 2014
In my opinion Its All Over Now, Baby Bird is the best ODD COUPLE episode. Its very funny and everyone is in top form. Felix is upset his pet bird is dead. Oscar cant fake sadness , as he hated the bird and believes the bird hates him (because it bit him the day he met it). The problem arises of what to do with the birds 'remains'. Oscar wants to throw it in the garbage. Felix wants to give it a proper burial. They end up at a pet funeral home where the pet funeral director trys to nickel and dime them extra costs. Oscar just wants to bury the bird as cheaply as possible. The bird has a funeral service Oscar, Felix, their girlfriends The Pigeon Sisters and the birds vet attend and even THAT ends up having a funny turn of events. THE ODD COUPLE program was an American Classic with great writing and great performances from its actors and actresses. In my opinion they just don't make shows like this anymore. Most of the episodes were funny and some were stand out hilarious. In my opinion this episode is one of the hilarious ones. This isn't just one of my favorite ODD COUPLE episodes, it is also one of my favorite TV episodes of all time.

Classic

The absolute gem in this episode, is James Millhollin as Mr. Humus, the funeral director.

"Paper mache, we don't even bother to give it a name."

Lol..when he's haggling with Oscar over the funeral costs. Just a snippet of the brilliantly played role.

For Me, A Top Favorite Odd Couple Skit
verbusen4 December 2016
Warning: Spoilers
For me, this is one of the funniest Odd Couples that I have watched, and growing up with the show during the 70's in reruns I think I've watched most of them. I will admit that my 10 rating is not very objective, because I had an aw-dang moment watching this to the end and realizing I knew the end because I had watched this before like over 35 years ago (before 1980), lol. The first season is pretty cool to watch because Jack's Oscar is still in the movie character Walter Matthieu's Oscar mode as being really grumpy (and horny for women, lol). Funny to watch the pet cemetery part because I actually worked at a pet cemetery in Westchester County New York where I was a pet grave digger for like a month or two! I was a teen in High School (lied about my age to get the job, I must have been desperate). Lot of abandoned tomb stones thrown away, sad. Jumbo the Ringling Circus elephant is buried there. I worked there so short a time but have some vivid memories. I made little caskets for parakeets with balsa wood and silk fabric and staples. I was a poor person so have never personally done this but understand how people have feelings and if they can afford it want to lay respects to their pets. All in all, a funny top 10 episode for me, funny but it really does portray a PC change in America that was going on concerning our thoughts about our pets. Re-watching the show now on the MeTV channel. Still hilarious.

Out of Character
SBEly16 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Admittedly, there are many really good jokes in this, most notably the one about Saul the Fly. The only reason this plot can happen is if Oscar acts completely out of character, which he does. Why would he go along with all the ridiculousness? As always, the two leads are pretty funny.

A parrot and the Pigeon sisters
stones7814 January 2013
This episode revolves around Felix's pet parrot being very sick, and after many pleas with an unsympathetic Oscar to help give the bird his medication, the bird passes away. Felix, more or less, blames Oscar because he didn't help him; he also tries making Oscar feel guilty, which he clearly doesn't, as Oscar is looking for places to trash the dead bird in a funny sequence, which includes the appearance of a familiar face in Ken Swofford, who's playing the ugliest undercover cop ever and is dressed in women's garb on a park bench. The annoying Pigeon sisters have a funny scene or 2, and both are mad at Oscar's ambivalence towards Felix's parrot, which actually ends up being alive after being comatose because Felix mixed up the actual dose of medicine he was to give the bird. There's another funny moment at a pet cemetery, which winds up being the only place to bury the bird, even though the box starts to move when the supposed dead parrot comes alive. The next few scenes has the bird fly out the window of the cemetery, only to fly back in the window of the apartment in a very unbelievable fashion, and that's how this episode ends. I wouldn't say this episode was very memorable or overly funny, but it was solid enough to recommend for any fan of the show.
