The Rescue (#1.8)
ComedyFan20103 September 2014
Warning: Spoilers
After Marissa took pills her mother blames it on Ryan and doesn't want him to see her. She also wants to send her out of the city behind Jimmy's back. But Ryan, Seth and Summer organize an escape for her and Sandy and Kirsten talk to Julie so she even lets Marissa live with Jimmy.

The episode was alright. A bit dumb how Seth and Summer had to go to get Ryan from writing the test, just to make it more dramatic when bad people don't believe in his great talents.

But glad that Marissa ill live with Jimmy, maybe it will be good. And Luke once again helped them out. I like his character way more than Ryan.

Less candles this time please

Warning: Spoilers
Marissa is in the hospital recovering. Ryan is trying to get to the private school everyone goes to. Seth and Summer are teaming up to help Marisa not go to a rehab facility. Jimmy and Julie continue to argue over their divorce and Julie wants to take full custody of their daughters. Jimmy then asks for legal advice which leads to Kirsten crashing drinks with Sandy and the new coworker Rachel. Marissa flees to Jimmy's new place when she breaks out of the hospital. Of course Jimmy has no clue of Julie's plans. After some pleading with Julie, Marissa gets to stay with Jimmy now.

I really feel bad for Marissa. She's going through a lot; father's fraud, cheating boyfriend, parent's divorce. Jimmy Cooper is definitely in the running for worst TV dad of all time and yet I feel bad for him, but his wife is pretty terrible too. Ryan, Seth, and Summer attempting to break Marissa out was gold. Seth has the best line reads in the series. When are Seth and Summer just gonna hook up? I also enjoyed Seth's suggestion of hiding Marissa in a model home. Just less candles this time... please. This episode has everything that makes the OC great: drama, terrible parents, a classic OC crew mess around, Sandy being classically charming, and a happy ending.

The O.C. Orange County, It's where Julie Cooper lives!
aura7728 March 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Everyone is back home in Newport, and Marissa is recovering. Julie points her finger at Ryan and forbids him from seeing Marissa, who does not appreciate the help. Sandy starts his new job, but finds himself surprised by the case work. Kirsten finds herself surprised by Sandy's new co-worker. Ryan enrolls at his new school, with conditions. Julie gets an intervention, and Jimmy gets a new roommate.

In this episode things don't really evolve. It's not boring, but it's not that important or interesting either. Marissa spends most of the time in the hospital while Seth and Summer go back to school and Ryan gets accepted there.
