Careless Transportation

What starts this episode off is a cavalier attitude about the transportation of nuclear waste. The episode begins with three guys getting ready to do this. Two are supposed to follow the truck but he leaves and their car won't start. The truck is hijacked and a ransom ensues. How do we hunt these guys down? Judd Hirsch, Alan, the father, gets involved and starts feeling his oats.

Where is the bomb, if any?

A radiative material was stolen for a possible application for a dirty bomb. Where is the most probable site of bomb going off, if any? There are many variables to be taken into account, and that's one of the most exciting portion. However, I found the culprit's real motivation behind that a bit weak.

Aside from that, my favorite part is the application of prisoner's dilemma under insufficient information among them. The dilemma usually implies that the prisoners are trapped in an unfavorable Nash equilibrium of both confessing and being punished. What if they are not confessing at all? What would be the best strategy for the investigators?

Big conversion mistake

As watching this episode on the french channel M6, in french version, I've found a really big mistake in it.

As Numb3rs is a math base series it's very incredible that they don't know how to convert m² in km².

When calculating the surface of the possible irradiated area, the scientist said that the dirty bomb will affect 26,000 m² ( in the french version), and his brother conclude that the bomb will affect 25 and 30 km².

Or with a very little math knowledge, we know that 26,000 m² is equal to 0.026 km² and not 26 km².

Forntunately it's only a series.
