The frozen body of what appears to be a 200 year old voyageur is found at Chris's fishing site. He is brought to Cisely where Maurice begins to salivate over the kind of money it could bring in. He is put in Holling's freezer for safe keeping and to be preserved. Soon the whole town is invested. But along with the body a journal is found which disrupts the course of history. What no one really looks at is the guy says things that are just untrue. Why do they take his word as fact. The highlight for me is a philosophical argument between Joel and Chris at a town meeting. It gets really deep. There is a subplot with Ruth-Anne and Ed discussing his potential after he gives up for a while.
