This episode was fabulous and a great introduction to all of the characters. From the very beginning, it seemed as if the show would be very powerful in terms of emotional content. The writing was very intriguing, and I loved the conflicts between Sean and Matt. The plot line with the midlife crisis was a perfect way to start off the series with a bang, and the introduction of many side characters that will become much more important over time was very intelligent. This show is one of my favorites, and the pilot episode was no exception. While it is not the best episode, I still loved it a lot. The operations were especially nasty and disturbing.

Good as it gets

Just as good as I remember it being with the first episode introduction, Troy is more loose as a doctor, Sean is laid back personality. Crazy viceral stuff happening at the operation rooms, I forgot that Raymond Cruz was even in this episode.
