- TriviaThe title refers to the American western outlaw Billy the Kid also known as Henry McCarty (birth name) and William H. Bonney. After his participation in the Lincoln County New Mexico range wars in 1877, he traveled through Texas earning a reputation as a gambler, outlaw and gun slinger. He was eventually caught by Pat Garrett, who later killed him after an escape from jail. Billy the Kid did not gain notoriety until after his death when his story was told in a sensationalist biography.

"Dick the Kid" a must see for all wannabe cowboys and Louie Lamour readers
The story starts off simple enough with Dick daydreaming about cowboying after reading a western for the umpteenth time, in fact can't get is mind on his writing at all and decides to go out west to Cowboy a little on a working dude ranch. The old west is nowhere to be found there and his discoveries of these differences leads to some of the best deadpan surprise reactions ever in comedy. I accidentally recorded this episode on VHS and it is my most prized tape. in fact the only reason i keep a VCR player.
If you never saw this one, just believe me you should be extremely jealous.
