One of those TV shows I can watch over and over!

NCIS is one of those TV shows I can watch over and over! Whether it's a new episode or a rerun. If I see it playing on television, I'll watch it. I've even rewatched the entire NCIS season on Netflix more than a couple times.

Unanswered questions about the crime
eporter-129-7151729 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I realize it's fiction and the teleplay is written for entertainment, not realism. Still, I with there was more of an explanation about why things happened this way.

They faked a Marine's death. Did he hide for 2 years in the house? Why did they just now kill him?

They're sophisticated enough to pull off an insurance scam, but terrible at getting rid of a body. They didn't even put the body parts in a bag? There's plenty of space in rural West Virginia. It would take less time to go to one spot in the woods and bury the body than cut it up and put pieces in dumpsters in 6 different cities.

The first time they visited Melissa's house, the toilet seat was up. What man was there? The only other person we saw was her mother.

They claimed that the body was cremated. Why didn't Gibbs ask about the metal in the foot? That wouldn't have burned and it would have trapped the doctor early once they got records from the crematorium.

Weak episode, weaker case.
LegendaryFang563 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It made for some entertainment, but ultimately, this was yet another weak episode. Its only saving grace was the characters. What kept me invested was the characters, their dynamics, and their interactions. I'd say that the comedic bits between Tony and Caitlin were among the best so far. Ducky's recollection story this time around was his best yet; the best part was the ultimate point of it being incorrect. The punchline of Gibbs highlighting that was great. All that buildup, only to break it all down with a simple sentence. Good writing.

Other things stood out; things that weren't as important but still noteworthy. Dean Norris had a small role in this episode. At first, I thought this was during his role in Breaking Bad. But this episode premiered a few years before Breaking Bad started, let alone airing. Still, I only knew who he was when he showed up because of what is likely his most known acting role: Hank Schrader.

Josh Holloway also played a small role in this episode. I'm sure loads of people immediately recognized him. Lost, anybody? I recognized him from that as well, although I haven't watched it yet. From what I have watched him in, I think I've known him because of Intelligence, a show that premiered in 2014, only lasting a season. It's probably hard not to know him from being in Lost, even if you haven't watched it. Interestingly enough, it premiered later in the year that this episode premiered. Little did he know he'd be in a show that probably cemented him in the minds of many.

As far as actors are concerned, it seemed like the acting by Stacy Haiduk as Melissa Dorn; and Bonnie Bartlett's acting as Dr. Sylvia Chalmers; was good. I mean, objectively. Maybe that's a bit of a stretch, but the acting by both of them certainly wasn't bad. Bonnie's acting seemed to stand out more, and I think it was good. Stacy's acting was good as well, just not to the extent of Bonnie's acting, but that may have more to do with the script they had to work with; Bonnie's character gave her more of an opportunity to shine. I didn't even consider her as a possible suspect: and the ultimate one in the end. Then again, that could be more because I wasn't that interested in the case and not because Bonnie's acting was good, although I'd say it's a bit of both.

All-in-all, there were quite a few things to note, but only two of them had important significance. The characters, their dynamics/interactions: being the highlight of the episode. And the acting by Stacy Haiduk and Bonnie Bartlett. Those two things were the biggest draw out of this episode. Without them, my rating would probably be lower. But still, either way, there's entertainment to be had from this episode, to be gleaned. Just not as much as I would've liked.

Sexual harassment in the work place by DiNozzo
hyacintoblack14 May 2020
I am appalled at the constant, every 5 or 10 minutes of sexual harassment of Caitlin by DiNozzo. Are there no workplace anti sexual harassment laws in the US? In Europe a leering scumbag like DiNozzo would be summarily fired. The whole saga and indignation of #metoo and yet Hollywood loves creating garbage like this. And the women actresses agree with it. Unbelievable!!

Pretty bizarre!
harrykivi19 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
As I have said before, "NCIS" has had its share of weak episodes. "My Other Left Foot" is sadly one of them. It's not as dull as "High Seas" or stupid like "The Immortals", but manages to be weird, undercooked and confusing.

Let's start with the good aspects, shall we?

. The production values of the episode are great. The direction's fine, the music fits the scenery and I did like the acting, particularly from the regulars. Out of the decent guest stars, Bonnie Bartlett gives the most compelling performance.

. There are parts of the story that are entertaining. Some of the jokes hit and occasional intrigue is seen here and there.

But...

. The mystery is a convoluted one, it is undercooked, bizarre and in its worst confusing. There are many twists and most of them make the story even more messy. The dialogue's heavy handed and the solution (Chalmers is the killer) does not give satisfying answers.

Overall, a bizarre episode.

4/10 HK.
