After a rocky first episode of S5, the show seems to stabilise itself in its second.
With a great guest performance by Michael Obiora as Jack, a friend of Michael's with a crush of Susan, this is a funny episode overall, with Zoe Wanamaker on top form.
The absence of Nick and his 'job/scam of the week', which would take up the B plot of an episode, means that the writers are clearly looking for combinations of characters to fill this void.
The combination tried this time is Abi/Janey, and it doesn't produce much comedy, with a plot that trickles away into nothing. Seeing Susan and Janey together in a coffee shop away from the house is actually more interesting, but wasn't often repeated.
A lovely episode overall.
