"Mork Gets Mindy-itis" opens with Mindy preparing an introductory party for cousin Nelson Flavor (Jim Staahl), who admits that he hasn't lost a contest since he beat out his sister as their mother's favorite. Mork responds by laughing, which he insists is the Orkan sneeze, cracking up at the most unfortunate times during Flavor's attempt to read his acceptance speech. The closer he gets to Mindy the more he laughs/sneezes, and Jeanie (Gina Hecht) tells him about the couple whose 10 year marriage ended when the husband developed an allergic reaction to his wife, who divorced and never saw each other again. Mork has no other recourse than to go live with Exidor (Robert Donner), who insists that Mork keep his hands off his (typically nonexistent) female guest Gretchen. Mork is stunned to learn that Exidor's apartment is Gretchen's ("how she can afford it I'll never know!"), and isn't too thrilled to share the couch with Gretchen's twin sister Lola. Mindy figures out the real problem is Mork's aversion to being close, quickly solved with a genuine hug.
