This episode features Eva Marie Saint. Two episodes earlier, the title of the episode was North by North Dipesto, which is a play on the title North by Northwest. Eva Marie Saint starred in North by Northwest.
At the beginning of the episode, when David (Bruce Willis) and Maddy (Cybill Sheperd) speak to the audience, David is wearing a headband that says "McMahon". Jim McMahon was quarterback of the 1985 Chicago Bears, who won Super Bowl XX in 1986, the year this episode aired. McMahon routinely wore headbands, and Willis' is a tribute to McMahon.
While filming a dramatic sequence in Cop Out (2010), Kevin Smith asked Bruce Willis if he could deliver one particular line in the same manner David Addison did in this particular episode. Willis was reluctant at first but right after the request, he performed the scene as if he was Addison again. Smith tells the story in his comedy show "Too Fat for 40".
