Looking at the Rolodex cards Addison notes everyone is there: heads of state, captains of industry, Pia Zadora. By 1985 Zadora had become a Hollywood joke, having won multiple awards for worst actress. In fact, she was runner up for worst actress of the century.
In listing improbables, Addison cites Hefner calling Guccione to try getting a date. Hugh Hefner founded Playboy Magazine in 1953, a publication devoted to sexy nudes and a pretense of sophistication; Robert C. J. E. S. Guccione founded Penthouse in 1965, devoted to sexy nudes without the pretense.
In the opening scene, an office is robbed of all its valuables. As the thieves are wheeling the stuff out, sitting on the front reception desk are 4 (now called) Mac Classics which could go for approximately US$1598.00 in 2019 (the Mac 128k are each worth approximately US$2500). The stuff they did steal had deprecated. The value of those 4 (speaking a bit like David Addison, here) if they could sell them 'now', then go back to 'then' 1985, would make their value almost US$13000. A very happy David Addison would note.
George Coe and Bruce Willis would co-star together in Blind Date (1987)
