Many episodes of 'Miami Vice' have their comic moments but this one is nearly all comic. Switek and Zito are given the case of Costelada, who is known to deal in stolen goods but has never been caught. They try to approach him through a middleman but are immediately identified as cops... this is when they have the brilliant idea of unofficially deputising Noogie and Izzy! Initially they claim they can provide a large number of televisions but when that idea fails they offer to provide a cement mixer! Away from the case things aren't going well for Zito and Switek; Zito's house gets destroyed in a gas explosion and Switek invites him over to his place... which makes things awkward for his girlfriend who has just moved in!
Normally I find the comedy antics of Noogie, and to a lesser extent, Izzy a distraction during more serious episodes but here they provide some genuinely laugh out loud moments; the scene with the cement mixer may have been very silly but it was also hilarious. There were also some great moments at the Switek household; you just know that when ever it looks as though he will get lucky with his girlfriend Zito will interrupt them! Even the bad guy provides some laughs as he gets as excited a child at Christmas at the thought of owning a real cement mixer! If you like your 'Miami Vice' serious you will probably hate this episode but if you like to take a break from the serious stuff occasionally you'll love it!
