An accidental case for Crockett
Tweekums9 February 2013
Warning: Spoilers
After a hearing to determine whether Crockett should be allowed to remain in the police it is decided that he should see a psychiatrist before a final determination is made; she suggests he takes a holiday. Meanwhile two criminals break out of prison with the intention of getting their hands on the money they stole. Inevitably as they head to meet their former colleague in the Keys they bump into Sonny; not only that; they kidnap the woman he just met and use her as a hostage. He gives chase and ultimately confronts them well off the beaten track.

This episode might rely on the unlikely coincidence of Sonny bumping into the escaped convicts but it is still fairly fun. It is good to see Crockett in a case again and the way it was done meant his return to active duty hasn't been rushed. The bad guys were a little bit over the top; drawing far more attention to themselves than seemed realistic but that did lead to some decent action including a few shootings, setting fire to a petrol station and finally physical fights between them and Crockett as he struggles to save the girl. Overall this may not be classic Vice but it was fun and worth watching.

Seen better.
mm-3925 March 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Bad Timing was an episode which shows the series was starting to run out of gas, in the season final. I guess the writers run out of ideas after four or five season. Season five had some good episodes, but some episodes just well are lacking. Bad Timing had good character development. Good locations, and memorable acting by Don Johnson. Sadly, lacking in story. Crockett is on a holiday, after the brain injury, which is anything but restful. Two escape convicts with help go after there stolen money and run into path of Crockett. As much as the characters, acting, and cast have a stellar performance nothing can save this dog of a script. Starts out stylish. Then over the top humor. End with the predictable all problems come together ending. Bad Timing is lame but watchable. 4 out of 10.

Unbelievably stupid ending

Warning: Spoilers
So two guns are lying on the ground and Red is too stupid to pick one up and use it, but somehow Tubbs shows up hours out in the middle of nowhere with no possible way of knowing they are there and rescues them at the last second. And this season started off so well...
