This was the point where just about every character on the show became sociopath psychos and it flew off the rails, but in a good way.
Amanda hooks up with psychotic Chief of Staff doctor Peter Burns who plots to destroy her boss's company so he can run it and install Amanda as the new President. He is crazy, scary and evil.
Amanda is thrilled at ruining her boss's life and stealing his company until he hangs himself in her office the next day. She feels some guilt and is discovering Peter is a psycho, but i'm not liking her with this story. Up until this point, Amanda was somewhat of a B but always played by the rules and never intentionally hurt anybody. I hope she doesn't continue down this path, but it looks like her conscience is eating at her so maybe she won't.
Sydney is kidnapped by her sister's sleazy boyfriend who raped her in a previous episode and takes her to Las Vegas where he lavishes her with expensive clothes and jewelry.
He tells her she can leave whenever she likes, but she'd rather stay with her rapist and indulge in all his luxuries than flee. Up till this point, Sydney had a strong conscience even when she was a high class prostitute, but here she's just being nuts staying with the sleazy creep who raped her just because he's giving her gifts in Vegas. So now she's psycho too.
Then there's Alison who's turned to alcohol because her ex fiance has started dating her best friend, moved out of her apartment and across the way so she can see them making out with each other through the window every day when she comes home.
It's a sick, unhealthy situation made worse that he works next to her all day too.
When she tried to let both of them know how this was hurting her, both of them were like "That's your problem to deal with". I think anyone would turn to vodka being near such hateful, despicable people 24/7. So Alison and Billy are psycho too.
Jo had her baby kidnapped by crazy Kimberley and when she tries to get her baby back, Kimberley calls the police and they take Jo away.
Why she doesn't just demand a blood test to prove the baby is hers is confusing. She does go to the hospital and tells the story to some person in charge, but he jaw droppingly just waves it off like she's crazy.
Any hospital would take these accusations very seriously and there would be an investigation. Jo is accusing one of their top doctors stole her newborn baby and she's simply told to leave the premises. It makes no sense and would never happen that way. Even her lawyer won't take her case because she originally plotted with Kimberley to make believe her baby was dead so she didn't have to give custody to the grandparents. But still, as her lawyer he should still help her.
He instead tells her she should get a criminal lawyer but she oddly doesn't. Instead she goes to Kimberley's doctor husband for help (WHY?!) who finally gives a blood test and learns that the baby is in fact hers.
But instead of giving her the baby he surprisingly tells her she can't have it because it belongs to him and Kimberley! Before this Michael was a mean person, but never full blown psycho. I really thought he was going to give her baby back to her and be angry at Kimberley for stealing it from her.
It's weird that he would go along with this because Jo was always a friend to him in the past. So now Michael has gone off the rails into crazy town.
Then there's Michael's ex wife Jane who he cheated on with Kimberley and even her own sister. She was always a clear headed sane character until this episode where she sleeps with Michael in Vegas and the next day laughs in his face telling him she wanted to know how it felt to finally be the other woman. She walks away laughing after saying how great he was the previous night and it was just a one night stand. When he sends flowers to her the next day with a loving note, she tells the delivery boy to send it to his wife instead so she can know what happened in Vegas. So now Jane is psycho too.
The only normal characters left at this point are Jake and Matt, but both pretty much do nothing so maybe they go psycho later on. Jo is still sane, but since she really does nothing to get her baby back from Kimberley, i'm calling her psycho too.
Watching all the characters unravel and go flying off the deep end into crazy territory when they were all nice and sane before is a real treat and was the best thing to happen to this show, but at the same time, I would never want to live in that building with those people.
I'd probably run screaming for the hills to get as far away from that place as possible, but it's a lot of fun watching from the safety of my sofa where none of these crazy psychos can hurt me.
