Buck's perspective!
Sylviastel16 June 2009
Unlike most shows, the dog was just in the background but not on this show. Buck Bundy was a beloved member of the family which isn't saying so much if you knew the family. From his point of view, he sees Al as the lovable loser desperate for the right German cheesecake from Wisconsin. So he sends Peggy on Jefferson and Marcy's honeymoon and when they return with the wrong cheesecake. Al goes to find the right one. While this is going on, Buck brings home a new dog, a female, who almost ended her life. She gets the attention of everybody in the household. I don't remember why Peggy wasn't in this episode anyway. It's a good episode and funny too.

Weakest Episode Of The Season So Far
slightlymad2229 October 2014
After so many great episodes in a season five from the off, it was inevitable there would be a weak one somewhere in there. And here it is.

Plot In A Paragraph: Told from the point of view of Buck (voiced by Cheech Marin), he runs away from the house feeling neglected. Behind a diner, he picks up a female dog, whom he brings home. He quickly regrets it, as the new dog gets all the attention, Meanwhile, Al is obsessed with getting a taste of his favourite cheesecake from a restaurant in Wisconsin.

The Al story line is the only thing to enjoy in this episode. All the cast do well, but there is just not a lot of laughs!!! Those that do come, come from Ed O'Neil as Al.

Two stories, both weak.
BA_Harrison22 November 2022
There are two storylines in this episode and neither of them are very good.

The first concerns Buck, the family's mutt, who is neglected by his owners; hungry, he wanders the streets looking for a meal. Outside a restaurant kitchen, Buck meets a female pooch who he takes home, but discovers that his family prefer the new dog over him. This story is ruined by the horrible voiceover by Cheech Marin, who turns the Bundy's hound into a streetwise Hispanic lech. Meanwhile, blues legend B. B. King sings a song about the dog that wastes a few minutes.

The second storyline is about Al's desperate search for an authentic Chuck's Cheesebowl cherry cheesecake, and it's not at all funny.

Kelly delivers the episode's one funny line: "Dad, they met Cousin Hooty!"
