Kelly's Fingers In The Food
Camelot_200011 September 2017
At her dad's insistence and her mom's resistance, Kelly (gasps!) takes the big step of joining the work force by getting hired as a waitress at a greasy spoon diner. If ever the beautiful Kelly had the chance to shine with her dimwitted and disjointed ways, it was in this particular episode. A very hilarious one at that.

The diner itself was a clever enough setting for her clumsy intro into the work force. She spills food on the floor and all over herself, throws meals toward the customers and even spits a hot dog to one with her mouth. There clearly were no hygienic standards to follow in a place like that, but if there was, Kelly clearly didn't know about it. Then again, the gruff talking cook found mice in the deep fryer to be a very delicious addition to the fries.

Kelly eventually gets adjusted to the working life and even puts her hair up in a beehive like her mother and, for some mysterious reason, wears a 'Bertha" name tag on her uniform. She also reaches into her inner self and, after learning the difference between talking and thinking, finds that her new position could make a big difference after all. As to what that "outlook" is, it's pretty funny and is also in true Kelly-Bundy-Style.

As unappetizing as that diner was, it was the perfect setting for Kelly's comedic idiocy. If Christina Applegate had been given the choice back then to have left the aprons of the mother show (Married with Children) and star in her own spin off series, this dead fly diner would've been the ideal setting for it.

Kelly Bundy...the most entertaining and hilarious waitress to ever grace the TV screen. This is indeed one of my most favourite Married with Children episodes.

Best Married With Children Episode Ever!
radmanart28 November 2018
To me the star of Married With Children has always been Kelly (Christina Applegate) I really liked her in Vacation too. Christina Applegate is the funniest actress on Married With Children; second to Al (Jay Pritchett) of course.

This episode is a typical example of how funny Kelly is. We never expect Kelly to amount to very much and to see her rise to greatness as a waitress seems fitting yet not right, yet a perfect fit for the comedy that is Kelly. The jokes in this episode are so perfectly timed; in this top of the mountain episode of Married With Children . The cook is a outstanding actor not to mention Jefferson's stellar performance. Even the dreaded Peg shines in this one. I started watching Married With Children with my wife as the episodes came out; like the Simpsons, because people were saying not to watch it back then. This is one of the best Married With Children ever!

Kelly the philosopher waitress.

Kelly does what no other Bundy woman has done before: she gets a job, working as a waitress at a diner. Although Kelly hates the job, she eventually realises that dishing out advice along with the burgers is her calling.

While nowhere near as good as the show in its prime (which would probably be season 5), this episode of MWC gives Christina Applegate a golden opportunity to once again prove what a great comedic actress she can be when given decent material. This one is a lot of fun as Kelly struggles to perform the most menial of manual tasks but learns that even she possesses wisdom of sorts, even if it isn't particularly deep.
