Al Sweats Elvis!
Sylviastel28 May 2009
When Peggy thinks that Elvis Presley is still alive and bumped into her at the shoe store at the mall, she feels touched. After all, people still think Elvis Presley is alive and faked his own death. Things get more complicated when one of Al's shirts sweats what appears to be a vision of Elvis Presley. Soon the Bundy home is turned into Chicago's Graceland with visitors and tourists being robbed by the Bundys and Peggy telling over-exaggerated stories about her meeting with Elvis which was only a brush. Then Elvis impersonators come by, finally Al decides to get in on the deal with blue suede shoes. It's a funny episode still and I enjoy watching it.

Al's all shook up by Peg's obsession with Elvis.

I think that until now, I had only seen episodes from seasons one and two: I still can't get used to that theme music.

Anyway, this one has Peggy convinced that she has seen Elvis Presley at the mall, and when she sees a sweat stain in the shape of 'The King' on one of Al's shirts, she contacts the Elvis fan club and makes money from the fans, charging them to see the shirt and listen to her fabricated stories.

Al and Steve also see an opportunity to make money by selling blue suede shoes. But by the time they get back to Al's home, the fans have gone to where Elvis has been sighted buying lugnuts from a hardware store.

I can't say that I found this one all that funny. It mocks the cult of celebrity but lacks really great gags, and ends abruptly, almost like there should be a part two. Thankfully there isn't.

Al has sweated Elvis and Peg runs with it. Classic outrageous absurd episode. Funniest moment is when the "Elvii" enter.
