You Belong to the City!
Sylviastel25 May 2009
The school counselor suggests that Bud get a hobby so Al suggests collecting baseball cards. Al and Steve get into it that he sells Marcy's prized Barbie that she was going to give to her daughter in return for other cards. So Al and Steve go to the streets and find Marcy's Barbie in order to bring peace in the Rhoades house. Marcy wants the robber to be punished but she doesn't suspect Steve at all. She just wants her Barbie and will do anything to get it back. So Al and Steve head to the tough streets of Chicago with the Miami Vice theme song, "You Belong to the City," playing in the background. It's a funny episode because it spoofs Miami Vice with Bundy and Rhoades playing Crockett and Tubbs roles. It's a funny episode.

Baseball cards and Barbie dolls.
BA_Harrison3 September 2022
Seeing how much Bud likes to torture Kelly, Al and Peggy decide that the boy has too much free time on his hands and that he should get a hobby. Al thinks that collecting baseball cards would be good, mostly so that he can relive his own childhood. Al gets Steve interested in collecting the cards as well, but when Steve sells Marcy's prized Barbie doll to fund the hobby, he soon realises that he has made a big mistake and has to try and get the doll back at any cost.

There have been a couple of solid gold classics along the way (Buck Can Do It, Alley Of The Dolls), but I can't help feeling like Married With Children was still finding its feet with season two, with a few too many episodes that fail to deliver the big laughs: Guys and Dolls is a prime example, featuring a weak plot and not one, but two overlong and not terribly funny montages to pad out the runtime (both set to Glen Frey's You Belong To The City). The episode is only 23 minutes long -- did they really have such little quality material that they had to do the same thing twice? (same thing goes for Bud misleading Kelly on her book reports!).
