A Weaker Episode But Ed O'Neil is Fantastic
slightlymad2228 October 2014
A weaker episode than the more recent ones, but still a lot if fun.

Plot in a paragraph: After Al's rich bachelor uncle dies, he leaves $500,000 to the first of his male relatives to produce a newborn baby named after him. Al overcomes his usual aversion to sex with Peg. Unknown to him, Having decided that no amount of money is worth going through pregnancy a third time, she is secretly staying on the pill, to keep getting regular sex from Al.

Amanda Bearse as Marcy isn't given much to do, again only appearing in one scene (this time without a date for a change) but boy does she make the most of that scene as she tells Peggy her fantasy. Peggy's (Katey Segel) cruel trick is the main point of the show, but Bud (Davd Faustino) and Kelly (the gorgeous Christina Applegate) have individual moments to shine, but the highlight of the show is once again is Ed O'Neil as Al Bundy. He carries this episode.

Classic Bundy Episode!
Sylviastel16 June 2009
This is one of my personal favorite episodes. I love Beth Broderick playing the greedy attorney who informs the Bundy relatives that they stand to inherit half-a-million dollars if they are married and have a son named Stymie Jr. Uncle Stymie was a Bundy male who never married. I think it's funny how Broderick who is highly underused as an actress in the industry does a magnificent job in the only two scenes. You want more of her. Well, Al and Peggy start having sex like rabbits in order to get pregnant but Peggy doesn't want another baby and Al doesn't know that. For Al, it's work and it's killing him to the point of him in a wheelchair with gray hair barely able to function. He's puzzled as to why Peggy is not pregnant after months of trying and trying. It's a good episode because we get to see the Bundy relatives.

Half-a-million dollar baby.

A simple "Yikes!" from Al when he sees Marcy is the funniest moment in this episode: it's such a perfectly executed moment courtesy of Ed O'Neill. The other really funny things about this one are Kelly showing Al how to use a pregnancy test, and the fact that Peggy tempts Al with the mention of a big screen TV -- a massive 40" set. How times have changed.

The rest of the episode is so-so, as Al and Peggy attend the reading of the will of Al's uncle Stymie and learn that the first Bundy to father a boy named after the deceased will inherit $500k. This means that Al has to have sex with Peggy, who secretly takes birth control pills to ensure that Al keeps on going. After lots of loving, Al is left a grey-haired shell of a man. When he discovers what Peggy has been doing, he exacts revenge...

Meanwhile, Al's jailbird cousin Eugene gets the money, but probably won't live long enough to spend it.
