Peggy's family stops by!
Sylviastel28 May 2009
Peggy's family include strange relatives to say the least including identical fifty something triplets played by the Del Rubio triplets who likes to sing and play their guitars with songs like "You are my sunshine." One of the triplets wants to marry a fellow but it might ruin the act. Peggy's other weird relatives to say the least includes Uncles Irwin and Otto, her obese mother, and left behind, her father back home because he wasn't on the list. There is only one scene between Marcy and Steve because Al goes there to get away from the family's insanity only to ruin their romantic dinner and evening during the three day weekend. It's a funny episode and the show goes all out to show the family's insanity.

Another hilarious Al Bundy debacle.
PWNYCNY13 January 2011
This episode is hilarious. The laughter is nonstop as Al has to deal with his in-laws. Of course, Al lets everyone know how he feels which makes matters only worse. This episode is AITF at its best. Every character is funny. And what's more, they are lovable too. The two uncles, the triplets, Al, Peggy, Kelly and Bud are one and all wonderful. Once again Al wants what he thinks is his only to find out, again, that he is but a human doormat who is meant to play the fool. What makes it funnier is that Al knows that he's a patsy, yet there is nothing he can do about it. He is the victim of circumstances of his own doing. His being married and having children is reduced to a gag, with Al being the number one object of ridicule and laughter. For Al Bundy is a symbol of the human condition and his plight epitomizes the constant uphill struggle to obtain a measure of happiness in a world where things seemed to be stacked against us.

What a load of W*****s!

I'm British so this episode is automatically funny because of Peggy's maiden name: I found it hard to keep a straight face whenever it was mentioned.

All in the Family is also a real treat because we get to meet several members of Peggy's eccentric family: her effeminate Uncle Otto (played by female impersonator James 'Gypsy' Haake, who took over the role after Divine died); bald Uncle Irwin (wrestler King Kong Bundy, whose name was the inspiration for the Bundy family name); and 'the triplets', played by Milly, Elena and Eadie Del Rubio. Peggy's mother remains unseen by the viewer (poor Al isn't so lucky... he gets to see her naked in the bath, which temporarily renders him blind!).

Hell, there's even an incest joke, as Kelly realises that one of her past boyfriends is a relative.

Al's dismay at having his weekend ruined (all he wants to do is watch Hondo) is very funny, although it all turns out to be a dream -- albeit one that is about to come true.
