Jefferson has spent most of Marcy's $3000 tax refund on clothes and goes to Al for a tip so that he can win back the money. Al is able to help when he learns from Kelly's new boyfriend, college football player Chad, that the rival team's star quarterback is on probation and won't be playing in the next game. Jefferson and Al both bet on the game, but when Chad falls for Kelly (and why wouldn't he?... he's only human), he starts to miss football practice.
This is a really funny episode, kicking off with one of Al's best remarks to his wife Peggy: "If your life was any easier you would be in an urn in the garage." Peggy also provides some good giggles, the woman making her own bon-bons with the slogan 'Put a wanker in your mouth'. When Al realises that there's a good chance that Chad's team will lose, and that his tip might well have put him in danger (Jefferson having shared the information with some very unsavoury types), he turns to his daughter for help: she tells Chad that there'll be no sex until after his team wins, a powerful incentive if ever there was one.
The ending sees Kelly accidentally pushing Chad down the stairs and breaking his arm before the game, but all is not lost: Polk High legend Al Bundy steps up and helps Chad's team to win.
