The opening episode for season eight sees Al getting his mitts on two tickets for an all-star charity basketball game. Al wants to give the spare ticket to someone who will appreciate the experience, but it's silicone madness night at the nudie bar, so the doorman is unable to go, and Al winds up taking Peggy instead. During the game, Peggy asks to swap seats with Al and, as a result, finds herself with a chance to win $10K in a free-throw contest.
I don't like sports, and I really don't like American sports, so much of this episode left me cold (there are several basketball guest stars that I have never heard of). Fortunately, Kelly is desperate to get into the arena to meet the players and so dresses up as Tina Turner and a cheerleader to sneak in - I'm easily pleased.
Naturally, Peggy misses the $10,000 shot, but as she is leaving she casually throws the ball over her shoulder and it goes into the hoop. That's Bundy luck for you.
Best line: "...this fat woman comes into the shoe store and she is so big that she actually has three smaller women orbiting around her."
