THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. –The Fiddlesticks Affair- 1965

This is the 16th episode of 1964 to 1968 spy series, THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. The series ran for a total of 105 episodes. The first season was filmed in black and white with the remainder shot in colour. Robert Vaughn plays agent Napoleon Solo while David McCallum plays Illya Kuryakin. Leo G Carroll plays Mister Waverly, the boss of the secret agency known as U.N.C.L.E. (United Network Command for Law & Enforcement) Their main enemy is THRUSH, an organization out to take over the planet.

UNCLE agents, Robert Vaughn and David McCallum are assigned to break into a casino vault and destroy the contents, 55 million in cash. The cash is used by THRUSH to finance their nefarious plans at world domination.

Recruited by UNCLE to help are vacationing tourist, Marlyn Mason, and safe cracker, Dan O'Herlihy. Running the casino for THRUSH is Ken Murray.

Mason's job is to distract Murray and the casino guards while Vaughn and O'Herlihy break into the vault from the casino. McCallum likewise goes for the vault after breaking in from an underground drain pipe. The team manages to pull off the raid after overcoming several major roadblocks. The cash goes up with a large bang and the crew escape back to the US.

Ken Murray was a Hollywood personality known for having hundreds of hours of home movies of all the famous stars. These home movies were a big hit when shown during the early days of television. An entertaining episode.

Warning: Spoilers
Rather good episode that does get bogged down with technology and for even those times, you could lose brief interest.

Dan O'Herlihy is a standout as a 3 time loser working for THRUSH but forced by UNCLE to participate in the looting of the money at the Casino in the Caribbean which is nothing more than a THRUSH plant.

That perky Minnesota girl is wisely used by Napoleon and Ilya as a diversion to get to the money.

As already known, THRUSH shall turn on their own when it comes for this utter survival. Ilya comes across at the beginning as a "nerd" so as to trick the O'Herlihy character into trying to steal what he is carrying.
