Chrissy brings home her latest date - 'Desmond' ( Mark Cooper ) - only to find Robin there, watching television. She tries to pass him off as her brother, but Desmond is not fooled and makes an exit. Furious, Chrissy swears revenge, and gets her big chance when Robin entertains a lovely nurse named 'Susan' ( Wendy Allnutt )...
This owes a debt to Season 1's 'And Then There Were Two'. Once again, Robin tees Chrissy off and she gets her own back by ruining his date. It would seem as though Mortimer and Cooke were running low on new ideas at this point in this series ( it ended the following year ). Robin watches the news at the start of the episode and is appalled at how depressing it is. Nothing much has changed, has it? Wendy Allnutt's other credits include 'Jennifer' in Ronnie Corbett's 'Sorry!', while Veronica Doran a.k.a. Larry's plain-girl girlfriend 'Myra' is probably best remembered as Eddie Yeats' girlfriend ( later wife ) 'Marion' in 'Coronation Street'.
Funniest moment - the final scene. Roper goes to bed the worse for drink, and makes an advance towards Mildred, who is clearly delighted. "Be gentle with me!", he pleads. At which point, the cistern upstairs begins leaking and water drips through the ceiling onto their bed. Mildred refuses to let her husband go. "Let's drown!", she exclaims.
