MacGyver : Quitting is not gonna chance what happened to Eddie. And maybe if you got there and showed those people how the game is supposed to be played, that kind of thing wouldn't happen!
Derek Kirby : Look, MAcGyver; You don't have a clue how I feel!
MacGyver : I know how you're going to feel about ten to fifteen down the line.
Derek Kirby : What is this, another pep talk?
MacGyver : Trust me, it's no pep talk; When I got out of high school, I could almost taste the Olympics and a pro career in hockey, and then I managed to get busted up.
Derek Kirby : How?
MacGyver : Playing hard, playing stupid. The point is my injuries were bad enough that I convinced myself that it just wasn't worth it. And I quit. And now every time I lace up my skates and go out on that ice, I gotta wonder whether I could have made it or not. And you know something, Derek? I'll never find out. You don't get many second chances, Derek. Don't make the same mistake I did; Because if you quit, that's it! You'll always wonder...!
