- When Winchester goes to inspect the sanitary conditions at another camp, the failing mark he gives the commander is met with physical violence. Meanwhile, the gang comes up with a surprise for B.J. on his anniversary.
- Potter asks Winchester to inspect a nearby combat unit for sanitation. Winchester has avoided the rotary inspections on the last 4 occasions and hence has no place to hide this time. He makes an audio will before he leaves (he grants his Power of Attorney to his father, for disposition of all his real estate. He gives his proxy to his mother, with the condition that she never use it to vote for Cousin Alfred. To sister Honoria he gives his butterfly collection) When Winchester goes to inspect the sanitary conditions at another camp, he is obviously in a foul mood and comes back with a scathing report on the camp (mess was next to the latrines, the garbage was collected in random places) and its CO Major Finch (Arlen dean Snyder). Major Finch comes by MASh 4077 and begs Winchester to review his rating, promising that all his recommendations will be taken care of. Winchester refuses and Finch punches Winchester in the mouth, breaking one of his teeth. Winchester is so ashamed of his inability to stand up to Major Finch that he refuses to press charges against him.
Meanwhile, the gang comes up with a surprise for B.J. on his anniversary. This is BJ's first anniversary away from Peg. No-one in the gang except Potter is married and are looking for ideas to make it bearable for BJ. BJ tells Hawkeye that at his last anniversary Peg was 8 months preggers. They shared a dance. Candlelight dinner at home. BJ was treating an injured Korean child Soon Chi (Michael Cho) (he fells in a ditch after a US artillery shell exploded close to him), whose grandfather (Yuki Shimoda) wont leave by his side (his leg is fractured and required a cast. His mother was killed and his father is still fighting in the army). The child has lost his harmonica (it was the only thing he could carry while escaping from shells). Potter asks Kinger to arrange one for the kid. Klinger says only new GIs bring harmonicas from the US and sell them to Korean kids as soon as they land. Only some combat units have Harmonicas and they wont part with them without a fight.
The grandfather overhears Winchester's conversation with Hawkeye and offers to teach him Karate so he can defend himself. Hawkeye and BJ call Major Finch, disguised as Winchester and say that Winchester will press assault charges till Finch is able to procure a Harmonica. Finch comes down personally and hands over the harmonica to BJ who gives it to the little Korean kid. On his way out, Finch runs runs into Winchester. Winchester strikes a chair with his leg to demonstrate his power, but injures it in the process.
On his anniversary day, BJ is lured in the Post Op, where Hawkeye and the gang have got Peggy to send in a video doing things that BJ likes to do when he is at home (All the things BJ had told Hawkeye, Coffee for breakfast, bathing Erin, Candlelight dinner at home and a dance). Margaret does him the honor of the dance.
