Hawkeye references this episode's events when explaining Flagg to Major Winchester in "MASH: Rally 'round The Flagg, Boys"
When Flagg first sees Hawkeye, he guesses that Hawkeye's name is Perkins. Captain Perkins was one of the aliases used by Trapper's G-2 friend, Vinnie Pratt, A Smattering of Intelligence (1974).
When Lt Col Flagg is in the mess tent with Hawkeye, Trapper, Major burns, and Major Houlihan trying to get the doctors to sign a release so he can take custody of his wounded prisoner, Major Burns is willing to sign the release, but he points out that the form needs two doctors signatures, inferring that the only doctors in the entire camp are him, Hawkeye and Trapper, who have made it clear they are unwilling to sign the release form. In reality there would have been many more doctors to have gone to for that second signature since a MASH unit during the Korean War was to have fourteen doctors, twelve nurses, two medical service corps officers, one warrant officer, and ninety-three enlisted personnel.
