The Greatly Underrated Jame Cromwell
Hitchcoc27 March 2015
After the Radar hero worship episode, Hawkeye continues to get drunk and womanize at every opportunity. In this one, Potter gets a letter from the Provost Marshall's office, claiming B.J. is not a real doctor. People are really worried until James Cromwell (Leo Bardonero) shows up. He is an old friend of Hunnicutt and an insufferable practical joker. He is going home and wants to say goodbye to his friend. Shortly thereafter, two MPs arrive and they have a warrant for B.J.s arrest. A general has charged him with disorderly conduct even though he was performing surgery at the time. He is arrested and taken to the General's office where he is confronted. Hawkeye and Potter follow him. Two subplots include Margaret demanding to get a leave to see her new husband and Klinger, dressed as an Arab with an invisible camel. There is a great scene where Margaret decimates the Colonel's office when she finds out there is not way she can get a leave.

James Cromwell was almost B.J.
safenoe21 September 2020
James Cromwell makes a guest appearance here as a prankster buddy of B.J., and the pranks fly back and forth, with ramifications on B.J.'s record. It happens James was one of the finalists to play B.J.. The other was Alan Fudge, who later guest starred in the episode Quo Vadis, Captain Chandler.

This episode isn't one for those starting to watch M*A*S*H for the first time, but still worth watching.

The mild mannered Maj Houlihan
mloessel27 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Deny her a personal request and she will turn into a maniac destroying everything in sight. This request was to go to see her hubby in Tokyo and have some much needed personal time with him. Potter finally okd the request and when she returned her countenance was very pleasant and she had a smile on her face. This was a good episode that featured Loretta Swit's exceptional acting skills.

Toomfoolery At Someone's Account!!
ellisel27 January 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Leo Bardonero stopped by to visit Captains Pierce and Hunnicutt in "The Swamp" in "Last Laugh." He told his buddies that he was heading home to Philadelphia. Captain Hunnicutt and Leo Bardonero were telling about the stunts they pulled at Stanford to Captain Pierece. Captain Hunnicutt was happy -- although disappointed -- about Bardonaro obtaining his discharge from the Army. By the same token, he would do anything to return home to Mill Valley. Bardonaro leaves the tent; and then he proceeded with giving them some "surprise" gadgets. Captain Pierce felt the joy buzzer after shaking hands with Bardonero. Captain Hunnicutt had a cigar exploded in the air.

Major Houlihan wanted to see Donald Penboscott in Tokyo. Colonel Potter told her that she could not be spared from duty. From there, the Provost Marshal's Office filed willful misconduct charges against Captain Hunnicutt. It was a setup on behalf of Bardonero as a practical joke -- or so it seemed to Captain Hunnicutt. The military police took Hunnicutt to a detention facility to face these accusations. Colonel Potter and Captain Pierce were heading to Seoul to clear Hunnicutt of these charges. Major Houlihan told Corporal O'Reilly to find Donald Penobscott in Tokyo -- under coercion. He made a contact with Sparky; another contact would not be made until after midnight. Major Houlihan was furious at him for not trying harder.

In the end, B.J. Hunnicutt was cleared of all charges. The cap was too big to fit his head. The forged signature on an invoice indicated that B.J. Hunnicutt was not responsible for the hotel charges in Seoul. Colonel Potter won his case on behalf of B.J. Hunnicutt. Enjoy!!
