It's not ground breaking but it's one of my favorite episodes
byester30 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
A break from the flow of causalities has our boys looking to ease the boredom Frank Burns is lining up the condiments by size and popularity and Col Blake is taking the down time to give a lecture to the men on the dangers of STD's. Hawkeye and Trapper receive their mail order gorilla costumes. Frank is troubled by a ruptured hernia and along with Hot Lips, he goes to his bunk-mates to ask if they'll operate on him. Hawkeye examines him while in costume and it's one of my favorite MASH moments! Things soon return to "normal" and the unit is overrun with casualties amidst gettin shelled by our own guns. Lots of good to great moments and a few are truly laugh out loud hilarious.

Close to wrapping up season two

Warning: Spoilers
Hy Averback directed As You Were, from the second series of this fine series. Anyway, Odessa Cleveland continues here role as Lt. Ginger Bayliss, RN, and I would love for her to be on the M*A*S*H Matters podcast, hosted by superfan Ryan Patrick and Jeff Maxwell, who started playing Igor in season two. Reflecting upon this episode, which was towards the end of season two, it would have been hard to imagine back then that the departures of Colonel Blake and Trapper John at the end of season three was going to happen, and thankfully their departures didn't rupture the series, as it could have with other series.

The Bombs Keep Falling
Hitchcoc3 March 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Just your basic episode. The camp hospital comes under attack from friendly fire. Doctors operate using flashlights because the generator has been compromised. Subplots include Frank's hernia surgery and the birth of a baby to a Korean woman while everyone is under fire. At one point a couple packages arrive. They are gorilla costumes that Trapper and Hawkeye put on and use to antagonize Frank. Frank gets put in a crate and can't get out. Apparently there is a lot of boredom because up until the aforementioned events, nothing much is happening. Colonel Blake gives a lecture on VD which puts everyone in hysterics. Once again, he uses those ridiculous drawings of male and female, which allows for lots of cheap laughter.
