Quotes

  • Lois Lane : [after chasing a man down she thought was Clark but wasn't]  I'm going crazy, and I'm talking to myself--that's a sign, isn't it? Now I'm asking myself questions... This could be a problem. Well maybe I'll learn to enjoy it.

[She looks up to see Clark standing in the shadows on her front stoop]

Lois Lane : You're just an illusion... not here...

    [Clark touches her wrist]

    Lois Lane : Oh God...

    [kissing her]

Lois Lane : If this isn't real, I don't wanna know.

Clark Kent : [while holding each other, kissing passionately]  Told ya I'd come back.

Lois Lane : Hmm, and ya did kiss me.

Clark Kent : [Talking in between kisses]  I don't have a lot of time. I had to see you.

Lois Lane : Why are you here?

Clark Kent : Change of plans.

Lois Lane : [Still kissing]  Don't stop. What about your people?

Clark Kent : They're here too.

Lois Lane : Don't ever leave me again.

    Clark Kent : I won't.

    Trey : Lord Kal-El?

[breaking the kiss to turn and face Trey]

    Trey : Family friend?

    Lois Lane : Very friendly.

  • Lois Lane : Concubines? I thought this was some great, evolved civilization. I mean, look at me--I'm on a leash.

Clark Kent : Well, look at the outfit they put me in...

[referring to his new capeless black and blue suit]

Lois Lane : Well, actually... I don't mind yours. So... This must be the bridal bed.

    [lays down on the bed]

Lois Lane : Comfy, I suppose... And my Clark, a married man. Uh, married Lord. You know, I was meaning to ask you, Clark, um... Just how married are you?

    Clark Kent : What?

Lois Lane : Well, I know that you feel an obligation to your people, and you are a pretty thorough guy when it comes to details, and you do look good... really great in the new suit...

Clark Kent : You think it's better than the blue and the cape?

Lois Lane : Oh no, I'm not knocking the blue suit, it's just this is more... More. And I know that you got married in good faith and you are a man of your word... How married are you?

Clark Kent : Lois... I promised you first. I can't even explain how frustrating all of this has been for me. Posing as a husband, stumbling over these very strange customs. I'm asked to lead people who don't even completely trust me, and the only time that I feel real is inside my head thinking about you.

Lois Lane : Well, I'm here now.

    [They kiss]

  • Jimmy Olsen : Lois. Hey, have you talked to Clark?

Lois Lane : He managed to call last night. I'm not sure when I'll see him.

Jimmy Olsen : Boy, he's gone, Superman's gone.

    [Looks at Lois wide-eyed]

Jimmy Olsen : He's gone, Superman's gone. Lois you don't think...

Lois Lane : [Interrupts]  I certainly do not Jimmy, that's ridiculous.

Jimmy Olsen : What, I was just thinking with all this hard work they could both burn out.

Lois Lane : Oh, oh... oh that.

Jimmy Olsen : Why what were you thinking?

    [walks away]

Lois Lane : I want a simpler life. A simpler life.

  • Lois Lane : Ching. They took him away. He was here and they took him away. And do you have any idea how much cookie dough ice cream I've eaten tonight? Where is Clark?

    Ching : In the palace.

Lois Lane : [Looks out the window]  I don't see any palace.

Ching : That would be correct.

    Lois Lane : Ching...

Ching : It's cloaked so that even now it is hovering over the city undetected.

Lois Lane : Well I gotta tell ya seeing him for less than a minute is almost worse than not seeing him at all. Almost but not.

Ching : Yes, Kal-El too said he was very... bumped.

Lois Lane : [Smiles]  Bummed. He was bummed.

Ching : He feels your absence deeply. I try to tell him that a Kryptonian must disregard his own feelings.

Lois Lane : Oh, right. Like you're not sick inside that Clark's married to the woman you adore... Ching I want to see Clark. There's no way your customs will allow it?

Ching : Actually there is one custom that might interest you...

  • Lois Lane : Concubine to slave. Is that a step down?

  • Clark Kent : Look at us. I always sort of figured we'd be on a honeymoon about right now.

Lois Lane : Well at least you're here, with me. Being without you, that was bad. And besides...

    Clark Kent : What?

Lois Lane : Well, if you want to know the truth, it's kind of exciting. This just seems to be how our life together is. Oh God. Do you think that's what makes our relationship work?

    Clark Kent : No.

    [Kisses Lois]

Lois Lane : ...Promise me, once in a while we'll have a quiet evening at home.
