Quotes

  • Lois Lane : [after consummating their marriage]  Wow!

    Clark Kent : I know.

    Lois Lane : That was...

    Clark Kent : I mean...

Lois Lane : Exactly. The only thing I'd like more is...

    Clark Kent : More?

    Lois Lane : Yes.

    [More passionate kissing]

Clark Kent : You know, we could still make those reservations in Hawaii.

Lois Lane : We are not leaving this room.

[Pulls Clark close and kisses him again]

  • [Lois and Clark passionately kissing in the elevator on the way to work]

Lois Lane : How are we going to make it through the day?

    Clark Kent : [laughing]  I don't know

    [kisses her again]

Lois Lane : You'd think after two weeks...

Clark Kent : But we waited so much longer than two weeks

    [kisses her again]

Lois Lane : So was it worth it then? The wait, I mean.

Clark Kent : Lois, it was perfect.

    [kisses her again]

Clark Kent : It was better than perfect.

    [in between kisses]

Clark Kent : At least... it was... for me.

Lois Lane : Clark, it was super!

    Clark Kent : Okay good

[they continue passionate kissing until the doors open]

  • Perry White : Jimmy! Where in the Sam Hill have you been, son?

Jimmy Olsen : I'm not sure...

Clark Kent : Jimmy, are you all right?

Jimmy Olsen : Yeah, I'm - I'm fine, CK. ... I seem to recall a woman, tall... and rubber gloves.

Perry White : [exchanges a glance with Clark]  That's probably more information than we needed to know, son. Everybody deals with grief in their own way.

Jimmy Olsen : She made me see lights.

Perry White : I'm sure she did, son.

  • [Clark stares grinning widely at Lois]

    Lois Lane : What?

    [Clark still grinning at Lois]

Lois Lane : Oh it's not that far fetched.

Clark Kent : No it's not. Actually it's very smart.

Lois Lane : So what are you grinning at?

Clark Kent : You. You are brilliant, and you're talented, you are gorgeous, and you are my wife. So I grin.

Lois Lane : Well. You're not so bad yourself.

  • [Clark hears an alarm]

Lois Lane : What is it?

Clark Kent : Alarm. Metropolis Prison.

Lois Lane : I'll meet you at Star Labs.

    [Kisses Clark]

    Clark Kent : Oh!

    Lois Lane : What?

Clark Kent : I just realized, this is the first time that you-know-who has separated us since we've been married.

Lois Lane : [Loosens Clark's tie]  Well when you see you-know-who you tell him I expect my husband back in one piece.

    [Kisses Clark again]

  • Clark Kent : You know I have been thinking that we should talk about where we're going to live.

Lois Lane : What do you mean?

Clark Kent : I mean look at this place.

[Looks around and sees all of Lois's furniture packed in with his]

Lois Lane : It is pretty cluttered isn't it?

Clark Kent : Looks like we're fencing stolen merchandise. Plus wouldn't it be nice to have a place that wasn't my place or your place but *our* place?

Lois Lane : Our place. I like the sound of that.

  • Clark Kent : Lois Honey, she didn't upset you with her spew did she?

Lois Lane : You heard all that? What am I saying of course you heard all that. You hear everything, you see everything, it's like being married to St Nick.

Clark Kent : She's a bitter woman. She doesn't know us. I love you and we are going to grow old together.

Lois Lane : No, we are not going to grow old together, I'm going to grow old... alone.

[Sits down trying not to cry]

Clark Kent : Honey what is this all about? Come on we are supposed to be able to tell each other everything.

Lois Lane : Yeah. So why didn't you tell me about your molecular structure?

    Clark Kent : My what?

Lois Lane : It probably doesn't mean that much to you because you, you know, fly and everything. But I get very emotional about my mortality. And I know how that sounds and it's not vanity. I don't mind growing old, honestly. I just don't want to wake up one morning and find out that you and I have been separated by time.

Clark Kent : Lois I have no idea what you are talking about.

Lois Lane : [Looks up at him]  You don't do you? Dr. Klein told me that your molecular structure slows the aging process. So some day I'll be an old crone and you'll still be... Superman.

Clark Kent : Well... Honey, even if it is true it won't change how I feel about you, nothing could ever change that.

Lois Lane : I know that. We'll have a wonderful life together. But then after we have a wonderful life together, you'll just... have another one.

  • Lois Lane : What's going on?

Clark Kent : Nothing. Come here. Stand right there... I was right.

Lois Lane : Clark what are we doing here?

Clark Kent : I just had this vision of how you would look standing in the light from this window. I had to see.

Lois Lane : Are you okay? What did Dr. Klein say?

Clark Kent : ...Apparently my body has already compensated for whatever age drain there was.

Lois Lane : Compensated. Then you have lost something?

Clark Kent : My friend is healthy. I'm sitting here with my wife. I haven't lost anything.

Lois Lane : But you gave up years.

Clark Kent : I gave them up for a friend.

    Lois Lane : How many?

Clark Kent : I don't know. The truth is no one knows how long they've got. Anyway it's not the years that count it's the moments right now as they happen.

    [He kisses Lois]

Lois Lane : So how do you suggest we make the most out of this moment?

Clark Kent : Maybe we could look at wallpaper samples.

    Lois Lane : Wallpaper samples?

Clark Kent : Well what do you think for this room? Wood paneling? Aged down walls?

    Lois Lane : You didn't?

Clark Kent : Well you seemed to really like the place. I mean it's in the city, it's got a lot of character plus it has a secret compartment which I have to tell you it's very very difficult to find in a building this style. All you have to do is say the word... its ours.

Lois Lane : Well you know I love it, but is it you?

Clark Kent : No... It's us.

[Lois kisses him and he picks her up while they are kissing]

  • Clark Kent : Alright, alright, let's have it. What's bugging you?

Lois Lane : What are you talking about?

Clark Kent : Come on Lois one second you're completely focused on this story and the next second you're somewhere else. What's wrong?

    Lois Lane : Nothing, really.

Clark Kent : Hey I can tell when something's bothering you, you get these tiny little wrinkles okay?

    Lois Lane : Wrinkles? Wrinkles!

[Rushes over to look in a mirror]

    Lois Lane : Oh where?

Clark Kent : No Honey that's not what I meant. Lois look, Honey, is this about us looking for a new place?

    [Conversation is interrupted]

  • Lois Lane : You're obsessing.

Clark Kent : Well it bothers me. I mean a bank robber...

Lois Lane : Clark nobody's perfect. Oh, okay scratch that, you're perfect. So there's gotta be some other explanation. Anyway there's nothing you can do about it, that's life. Sometimes life ain't fair.
