I guess it's the same with every episode of this series, but the episode begins with Bridges visiting a place where he is told the story of some one. Then you have a flashback scheme. Here, visiting a harbor, an old sailor evokes the fate of Christian Brevick - played here by Bridges himself. It takes place during WW2. He is an French France Libre fighter sent in France to get rid of an enemy. But this man has a wife and he receives orders not to contact her. So he disguises as a priest to achieve his mission. But of course he will see his gal, at least for maybe the last time. The mission concerns the killing of the enemy agent, but father of a little girl. When Bridges is about to shoot the Nazi man, he suddenly hesitates in his lethal task. The scene between the baddie and his child brings a surprising touch in the story, supposed to focus on Lloyd Bridges character. This sequence is a turn in the tale. I won't spoil any further your pleasure.
