Narrator: [Opening Narration] It is estimated that Wyatt Earp took part in more than a hundred gunfights during his career as a Western Marshal. He was fast because he had to be, but he shot only in the line of duty and he always tried to disable his man, rather than kill him. Marshal Earp had no relish for gunfights and he scorned the drink-crazed amateurs or criminal psychopaths that glorified shooting it out with .45s. They made his job as Marshal of Dodge City the most dangerous on the frontier. Thus, when Wyatt met up with Guns McCallum, he thought he knew what kind of trouble was heading his way.
