Another interesting supporting cast of players from the big screen make this
Laramie feature interesting. They kind of smooth over accepting a rather off
the wall plot about two people finding true love in a perilous situation..
The two are saloon girl Ruta Lee and Lin McCarthy arrested for robbing the bank in Laramie. Robert Fuller and Spring Byington are in town, her for shopping, him for a dentist. He offers to escort McCarthy from Cheyenne back to Laramie on the stagecoach.
Besides Fuller, McCarthy, and Lee, the passengers also include territorial prison warden Ted DeCorsia a most unpleasant man and Percy Helton who is peripherally in league with the bunch McCarthy ran with. They want the loot McCarthy buried in a ghost town where the law cut up with him.
I think for Lee to fall in love with McCarthy was a bit much. This revamped version of Stagecoach doesn't quite work. But the familiar players are always fun to watch.
