Joey and the Book Club (#1.4)
ComedyFan20108 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Michael is having book club meetings at home and once Joey sees that there are many pretty ladies he joins it too. The bad thing is that the girl Michael likes is attracted to Joey and they fight. Gina wants to do hair of celebrities and Alex helps her with connection, but the celebrity takes that hair style down. But Alex makes Gina feel better by letting her do her hair.

My favorite in this episode was Bobbie and her going after Michael, she is indeed a hilarious character!

The hairstyle Gina did for Alex was pretty awesome, she also looked really good in those clothes.

"Hey there little snail"

Joey, in an attempt to meet people, joins in with Michael's book club, and ends up being very popular with the ladies, especially the girl that Michael himself liked.

Matt Le Blanc and Paulo Costanzo had good 'odd couple' style chemistry, and that shines through here. There are some funny moments not only in that story, but also the start of Bobbie's odd attraction to Michael.

At this stage the writers were still giving the supporting characters their own story (without Joey having to be involved!), and I liked the Gina and Alex dynamic in their story.

For me this episode also gave a hint that the show probably wouldn't last long in the line "hey there little snail". It was the first sign that the writers were at sea when writing for the Joey character, never knowing whether to make him smarter than he was on 'Friends', or ridiculously thick to the point of no return.

Overall another good episode of this much maligned, but actually quite good show.
