"Old heroes never die - they become the stuff of legend".

Enjoyable hokum, with everyone enjoying the Florida sunshine.

Nicely acted; Harriet's frustration with Bud continues (three duck-outs from the "meet the parents" scenario and she is remarkably patient - for now!) and some elderly actors get to play secret/DEA agent.

Ernest Borgnine (how old was he at this point in his career?) gets to play the elderly hero, motivated by the earlier loss of his grand-child. Two "old" Navy buddies assist him in his endeavours - Chegwidden recognises the name as the first African-American SEaL.

A pleasant 45 minutes, undemanding and ensuring that the "good guys" come out on top. Harriet finally gets Bud to meet her parents. It turns out that Harriet and Lydia have matching swings, when it comes to admonishing their men. Harriet reveals her "filthy-rich parental lifestyle" to Bud, but admits to being a tomboy (the reason why she joined the USN). The parent-bonding session goes well (with the loan of a car, Bud is proud to be a "JAG in a Jag").

Everyone ends up happy (apart from the criminals) and I wonder whether Karri Turner should have been given a much-more-demanding role in this series. At least she had regular work through most of the years that "JAG" was filming.

One stand-out quote: "You owe me a yacht".

Think of a piss-take on "Kelly's Heroes", 30 years on. There is also the memorable line: A loving tribute to "you feel the same at 72 as you did at 18 - it's just that some things don't work quite as quickly".

Basis for Hetty & AJ Chegwidden Covert Team?
CWCheese25 December 2019
This episode is good fun and adventure, as I watch it again now (on H&I) it seems to me that Artemus Sullivan's little trio are the pattern for the NCIS:LA era Hetty gang (including Adm (Ret) Chegwidden) that continues to carry on covert missions.

this show stinks except for karri turner

The producers and writers and directors were too stupid to realize that the real star of this series was karri turner ... why they gave her a numbnuts like patrick labyorteaux as a love interest was even dumber ... he was a clumsy klutz and barely brighter than a tomato plant
