Rabb sings, Admiral kicks butt
Ralpho17 June 2012
This is one of my favorite JAG episodes, but not because Rabb plays guitar and sings a love song to Annie Pendry. That part is rather cringe worthy but worth seeing just for the novelty of it. No, I like that we finally get to see Admiral Chegwidden reveal more of himself to the other characters and fight with them to save a boy in trouble. (A boy that he, too, has bonded with after pretending not to care.) Once he and Major MacKenzie have beat hell out of two bad guys, Chegwidden says, "Hoo-ah" in the most understated way possible, and it's hilarious. She later kisses him on the cheek, and it's a beautiful moment.

Entertaining: Harm sings, Annie stays over; Mac and AJ do Marine/SEAL things
hindsonevansmike10 February 2021
An entertaining episode from the middle of Season Three, revealing more of the characters.

Mac is still doing "scut" work - at the Admiral's direction - after returning to JAG following her dalliance with the private legal sector. Harm persuades Annie Pendry (Luke's widow from "Pilot Error" - S01Ep06 back in 1995) to let him accommodate her and her son Josh after the bad guys shoot up her home in Baltimore (where she has moved to get away from San Diego and the constant whine of F-14s which remind her of her late husband).

Everyone bonds over dinner at Harm's (I didn't think that his apartment was *that* big!) and the Admiral reveals his former marriage to an Italian.

The Admiral moves beyond the office-based cipher, hooking up with Mac to deal with the bad guys after Clayton Webb's operation resulted in Josh inadvertently becoming a witness to a murder.

AJ invokes "the law of the sea" to get the US Coastguard on side; then Mac, Harm and AJ inflict serious (generally fatal) damage on the bad guys and rescue Josh. Even Clayton Webb redeems himself by rescuing Harm from a bullet in the back.

Mac and the Admiral agree to start over; she is so relieved - and pleased with the outcome - that she kisses him (once!) as they leave the ship victorious.

Harm plays guitar; Annie stays over. They have breakfast a few times, but she is still haunted by the risk of losing her next man - which makes her reluctant to go any further/deeper/faster with Harm. We'll have to leave *that* pairing for the Fanfiction brigades!

This was a nice, enjoyable, heart-warming and watchable episode from the middle of the first full season on CBS.
