"High Ground"
allmoviesfan3 May 2023
This episode revolves around a hard-nosed, old-school Marine Corps gunnery sergeant who is given orders to deploy to Bosnia by a new colonel, despite agreements with previous colonels that he could ride out his time stateside and collect his pension. Apparently upset by the change, the gunnery sergeant takes a pot shot at the departing colonel's Jeep, hitting the mirror, thus making him the target of a JAG investigation.

The Gunnery Sergeant has a connection to Admiral Chegwidden, as the writers start sketching in the new JAG's background for viewers.

Tracey Needham is a bit player (as is Andrea Thompson as Commander Krennick, back again) and Harm gets to do his usual SEAL-type thing. You can set your watch by it.

The episode has bit of a Rambo feel to it at times. This one didn't really click for me, but judging by it's IMDB rating, I might be alone in that,

A long shot

The credibility here is stretched (trying to pull off an accurate rifle shot without even using the sling to steady the weapon - basic, BASIC weapons handling in anyone's army!) but doesn't detract from another "Harmon Rabb Action man" episode.

Meg Austin's character is largely wasted throughout this episode, whilst Andrea Thompson's 4th appearance as Alison Krennick further emphasises her character's determination and drive as the prosecutor.

The Admiral puts in an appearance and saves Harm from a "planning weekend" with Krennick!

Please stop the Hollywood B S!

The CO gets out of his jeep strides up to the Gunny on the range and announces, congratulations Gunny your being transferred to Bosnia, and you leave tomorrow! In my career as an Administrative Specialist and one who issued his fair share of TONO's (Travel Order Numbers), I have N E V E R repeat N E V E R transferred a member the n e x t day! That is the most ridiculous thing I ever heard, and this series has had some pretty ridiculous episodes. IF a member is needed someplace the next day they would be issued TAD orders. A PCS requires quite a bit of scheduling and travel prep. The next day is so totally ridiculous, and I wish Hollywood would stop with the B. S. People who don't know any better thinks that is the way it is done and it is just so wrong.

another bogus episode

A navy jag officer even with specialized training isn't even in the same ball park as a marine sniper... this series gets worse every week glorifying david james elliot as a one man show with super human capabilities... really surprised he didn't have his own custom made gilly suit...the marine colonel is not unlike every other colonel trying to make general officer rank...they are all pigs and a-holes that feed on their underlings to get what they want...my opinion of them is lower than a snake's belly
