Nearly 25 years later, Jason Behr (Midshipman Danvers) had a recurring role in the final season of Supergirl (2015) as the biological father of Kara Zor-El, Superman's cousin, who escaped Krypton's destruction and was adopted and raised on Earth by the Danvers family.
Operation Phoenix was a classified (still is as of 2022) black ops mission during the Vietnam War coordinated by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and carried out with the assistance of the United States Navy's Special Warfare Command. The details and specifics are not known other than it started in February of 1966 in Biên Hòa Province and paved the way for start of the Phoenix Program. The Phoenix Program was designed and coordinated by the CIA and lasted from 1967 to 1972 and involved the militaries of the U.S., Australia and South Vietnam, specifically U.S. Army Intelligence, U.S. Navy SEAL's, Marine Corps Force Recon and the Special Air Service Regiment (SAS) of the Australian Army. The purpose of the program was to identify and destroy the Viet Cong via infiltration, capture, interrogation, torture, counter-terrorism and assassination. The CIA described it as "a set of programs that sought to attack and destroy the political infrastructure of the Viet Cong."
