As funny today as it was back then.

Jen has been interviewed at Reynholm industries, and is offered the job of the IT manager. She's lied about her technical knowledge on her CV, and is soon found out to have no IT knowledge at all. Sent down to the basement she meets her team, Roy Trenneman and Maurice Moss, a pair of socially awkward nerds. Her skills lie in being a people's person, she attempts to raise their profile by holding a drinks party, sadly the boys get it wrong.

It's so hard to believe this was made back in 2006, watching it again it feels as fresh, new and funny as when it first aired. The Amsterdam snaps are hilarious.

They're a magical bunch of actors, they're all slick, blessed with excellent timing, and the gags are plentiful.

Great start to what it a much missed brilliant show. 8/10

The It crowd-Review

My first viewing of the It Crowd, and I am glad I took some time and found a good comedy, liked by most on this app, by the high rating, and highly rated episodes. However the pilot is finding its feet, and for me it doesn't do a brilliant job when it comes to the humour. But, does show good promise, by the likeable and charming cast members here, and some light humour for the audience to sink their teeth into. So whilst it's a slow pilot, it does show promise for later seasons and episodes down the line.

Jen has been appointed by the owner, by Denholm for computers. Where he says the "NERDS" very loudly. After a promising interview, that's far from the truth. But somehow she is still appointed as the manager of the IT section, right down to the bottom, in the basement.

She pretends she has a phone call, and pretends to be writing on the computer, but as a matter of fact she is really bad at hiding the fact she has no clue or ideas on how a Computer functions. Maurice and Roy always find a way and work out how she's able to communicate, considering the plugs are all out giving her no connection on the device. Where Maurice figures out streight away she doesn't have a clue on what she is doing. These are all funny segments throughout the mini-pilot.

The mini Story Maurine dishes out in the party is hillarious, as everyone's face drops into a concerned look. This scene was also comedy gold, and British humour at it's absolute peak. But, for me not all the jokes landed, and some of them didn't really work as they were overused at certain points.

Also the laugh track is just annoying at this point.

So, Would I recommend the It Crowd?

I would indeed, despite the slow start-6/10 Imdb Score.

Rough pilot to sit through, couple decent jokes

It's okay. It's basically The Big Bang Theory meets Fawlty Towers. As with all other pilots, this pilot is no exception when it comes to a meh plot. The jokes go on for way too long and the laugh track is sparse but annoying at times.

Really bad

It's like The Big Bang Theory, but they are "IT nerds" as the mainstream saw them 15 years ago. The girl is also dumb, just as Penny in the early seasons. And it uses a laughing track.
